It’s no secret that I am a fiend for some chicken strips. Any kinda crunchety crispety chicken is my absolute downfall.
We’ve been kinda conditioned to think that this is inherently an *unhealthy* food but lets be real… the only thing iffy is the deep fried factor. Do away with that and you’re golden. Maybe adjust the breading a tad if gluten doesn’t sit well with you and bada bing, bada boom, epic source of protein. Add a scrumptious homemade dipping sauce? Babe. Healthy fats.
Anyyyways, I have tried homemade chicken tendies a myriad of ways and this is hands down my fave.
What makes these so super easy and effortlessly crunchy is using blended up crispy stuff and the beauty is you can use literally anything- tortilla or potato chips, crackers, cornflakes. I love that not only can you use up some kitchen scraps which is epic- we love a good trashcan rescue- but they are so beauutifully crispy without even trying.
I personally prefer dousing these in a hot honey garlic butter but you can really do any sauce of choice. I’ll include my honey butter recipe though, just for you ;)
